Lev Malka won the "Shield of the Health Minister" award for the year 2006, for its outstanding volunteer work as a group. The award was presented by the minister at a grand ceremony in the Nahariyah Hospital, attended by dozens of volunteers, and other organizations. We were chosen from over 1000 other organizations who were investigated over the course of the year.

This distinction, the highest offered by a Ministry of the government, was conferred upon us in recognition of the work we do in the important field of blood drives, and other assistance to the sick and needy. It comes on the heels of large operatins done in the war in Lebanon, including food distributions in Kiryat Shemona, Tzefat, and Nahariyah, as well as other assistance offered to the residents displaced by the war.
